Ever see a listing that says “3 days on market” but something feels off?

It might be “DOM washing.”

Sellers withdraw listings and relist to reset the Days on Market counter. It makes a stale listing look fresh.

How to detect it:

  1. Check Zillow’s “Price History” tab for gaps
  2. Cross-reference Redfin’s listing history
  3. Look for identical photos with new listing dates

The CDOM (Cumulative Days on Market) is the real number — but it’s only available through MLS access.
